(front crank pulley) on my Volvo 780? The front crank pulley has a rubber donut that is totally shot, and the mechanic says its the harmonic balancer, and they cannot read the timing cause that pulley is drifting. Is this a reasonable DIY project.Dealer cost $208Comments?

it is easy for a mechanic like me to do at my shop but, it can be difficult to do at home. I recommend taking the car to a mechanic.

its not too hard.all we did was take the center bolt out and took a pry bar and it came right off.it was on a 88 olds 3.8,but its the same, with a rubber insert.
